Project Background
A large private, investor-owned utility had developed a backlog of vegetation clearance prescriptions (15,000+), throughout their service territory. Local vendors were not able to address the environmental screening, clearance and release to construction in a timely manner.
Scope
OMS Field Services, LLC (OMS FS) staff conducted desktop environmental constraints reviews, database searches and field visits to assess vegetation removal prescriptions for potential to trigger discretionary agency permits. Screening utilized GIS and associated databases. OMS FS staff provided releases for construction and provisional releases for construction with prescribed BMP’s and avoidance measures. OMS FS staff also directed permitting activities for tree removals and vegetation trimming that could not be reconfigured to avoid discretionary permits.
